Robert (Bob) Verrett
After 31 years with Halliburton and 2 years of retirement, Bob Verrett founded Upstream International in 2004. Formerly serving as the oilfield giant’s Vice President of Integrated Solutions, Bob maintains a well-honed business philosophy that is customer-focused and quality-based. He has proudly crafted Upstream International into a company that reflects his personal viewpoint.
With global oil & gas industry experience that spans from the drilling platform to senior management, Bob has a proven track record of guiding companies through sound leadership to meet new challenges. His distinctive strategic vision has helped pilot his business concerns to survive and flourish despite changing needs and cyclic markets.
He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from McNeese University
Vice President Operations
Immersed in the oilfield culture for more than 20 years, Bryan Anderson brings a world of knowledge to his position at Upstream International – quite literally. He has worked on six continents and over 30 countries for industry leaders, including Otis Engineering, Halliburton Energy Services, Weatherford International and BP.
The hands-on, technical expertise and inexhaustible personal drive Bryan has brought to Upstream International since joining in 2007 have been invaluable to both clients and consultants alike. Through experience gained by working in positions such as Regional Operations Manager, Asia Pacific and Regional Manager Well Services in Australia, he has developed specialties in well control, well intervention and underbalanced drilling.
Bryan attended the University of Houston and maintains numerous industry certifications.
Customer Accounts Manager
Joining the leadership team at Upstream International in January 2007, Charlie Pearson brought two key attributes -- four decades of global oilfield experience and a solid foundation in outstanding customer service. His personal approach to client interactions is based upon a trio of simple, yet highly effective cornerstones: Professional Relationships, High Quality of Service and Competitive Rates.
Charlie has put these beliefs and skills to work for the world’s largest energy companies, including 35 years at Halliburton where he served clients such as Shell, Total, BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips. Focusing on well completions and well interventions, he has led successful operations across the country and around the globe.
Charlie received his B.S. in Business from the University of Texas at Austin.
With a lead-by-example attitude, Mark Kehnemund exemplifies the “customer first” philosophy held by Upstream International. His ongoing examination and improvement of Upstream International’s internal processes have helped shape a company with whom it’s easy to conduct business.
Mark came to Upstream International in August 2008 after gaining over three decades of experience in the financial and operations sectors. He has worked with both Fortune 500 companies and small businesses to transfer best practices and provide strategic planning. From his early career days at Arthur Anderson to more than 26 years with Halliburton, Mark has embraced an unwavering commitment to being a total team player.
Mark is a Certified Public Accountant and former Registered Representative and Financial Advisor. He holds a B.S. in Accounting and Economics from Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
Operations Manager, Rocky Mountain Region
Deftly matching an accomplished oilfield consultant with a valued client can be as nuanced a balancing act as coaching a middle school athletic team. John Johnson, formerly both an expert Directional Driller and an experienced academic, can understand the distinct parallels between the two seemingly different spheres. His well-developed leadership, organizational and relationship skills have made him a valued member of the Upstream International team since 2011.
John has significant hands-on experience as a Directional Driller and worked as MWD Field Engineer for Sperry-Sun/Halliburton. Prior to his career in the oilfield, he served as principal of multiple junior high, intermediate and high schools. He was proudly named Outstanding High School Principal in Texas’ Region 13.
Currently a Colorado resident, John received his Bachelor of Science from Southwestern University, Georgetown, TX and a Master of Science from University of Houston.
Operations Manager, North East, USA
Bill Long speaks the language of the oilfield. His hands-on knowledge base was assembled and refined over decades of manning offshore and inland rigs. After gathering more than 30 years experience in the completions, workover and service industry, Bill brought his expertise to Upstream International in 2011.
A long-term employee of Schlumberger/Camco Products and Services, Bill also gained high quality professional experience during his time with Otis Engineering, Boots & Coots, Express Energy Services and Quality Energy Services.
Bill attended Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Global Operations Manager, Directional Services
Phil Green’s multi-layered understanding of the oil and gas industry began in the Louisiana marshes more than three decades ago when he stepped on his first barge as a roughneck. In the years since, he became a veteran directional driller and a skillful coordinator. His experience base includes land, shelf and deepwater projects with both horizontal and conventional drilling.
A respected manager at Halliburton for almost 20 years, Phil’s most recent position entrusted him with full financial and budgetary responsibility for the Sperry Drilling product line in the Southeast US. His customer service commitment encompasses both providing a safe environment and exceptional operational service delivery.
Phil was educated at the Leake Academy in Madden, Mississippi. He currently resides in The Woodlands.
Global Operations Manager QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment)
Crafting an ongoing culture of safety in the oilfield requires thoughtful education and effective leadership. After coaching more than 12,000 individuals on the oil and gas industry’s best practices, Cody Pope fully recognizes what is necessary to secure a safe workplace environment. He also understands the value of genuine communication –well-versed, shared thoughts and attentive listening to what clients have to say – in securing ideal safety consultants for each position.
Cody’s multi-faceted professional background gathers knowledge and experience from years spent as a Wells Fargo financial advisor, an independent insurance agent and a youth pastor. He holds bachelor’s degree from Criswell College and also did graduate work at Criswell and Dallas Theological Seminary.
An involved member of his past and current communities, Cody has been active with the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce, previously serving on its Board of Directors, Finance Committee and Business Advocacy Council. He also coaches youth sports and founded the Austin-area nonprofit, Two14 Network.
Overseeing the administrative team at Upstream International requires Carol Wittneben to be a “jack-of-all-trades.” With official duties ranging from facilities manager to event coordinator, she also manages the company’s accounts payable, account receivables, employee payroll and shares responsibility for invoice processing and payments.
As Upstream International’s first full-time employee, Carol began her tenure with the company in 2006, shortly after its founding. She is a graduate of Western Illinois University.
In charge of every aspect of Upstream International's accounting process, Jeanette Johnson is a source of tireless support to our consultants. Jeanette oversees the company’s invoicing procedure for clients and consultants, payment processing and financial reporting. A gifted facilitator, she is a master of detail who guarantees the seamless and timely payment of invoices for our consulting professionals.
Prior to joining Upstream International in June 2007, Jeanette served as the Accounting Manager with South Texas Dental.
With an eye for pinpointing the industry’s most qualified and respected professionals, Robin Wright serves as the lead “talent scout” for Upstream International. She meticulously maintains a roster of consultants who meet Upstream International’s stringent guidelines, as well as our clients’ rigorous requirements. Well-schooled in the industry’s needs, Robin tracks consultants’ training requirements, verifies certifications, arranges drug testing and conducts background checks. Throughout these processes, she prides herself on treating consultants with the professionalism they deserve.
Previously employed at BP, Compaq Computer and NL Industries, Robin began working at Upstream International in 2008. She attended Houston Community College.
In her position at Upstream International since 2010, Adrienne artfully and successfully juggles the array of office duties presented to her on a daily basis. Her “customer first” philosophy makes her an invaluable part of the in-house staff as she manages the invoicing and accounting tasks related to both our consultants and clients.
Previously employed by oilfield products manufacturer Davis-Lynch for nine years, Adrienne gained a wealth of on-the-job experience by rising from an inventory control assistant manager to assistant accounting manager/secretary to the president. A graduate of Alvin High School, Adrienne also attended Alvin Community College.
Susie Juarez ensures the smooth and efficient transportation of Upstream International’s host of consultants to and from their worksites around the globe. Her attention to detail also guarantees that our consultants adhere to the industry’s highest standards by arranging drug testing and conducting personnel background checks.
Susie, with more than 15 years of administrative experience, provides skilled support to Upstream’s entire operations team. At her previous employer, South Texas Dental Associates, she gained key customer service insight while serving first as a receptionist, then as both an accounts receivable and accounts payable clerk.
With a high level of proficiency, Alissa Chapa has deftly coordinated front desk duties at Upstream since joining the company in 2012. Her wide-ranging responsibilities encompass all essential administrative functions and extend to assisting with client invoices.
Previously with Quest Offshore Resources, where Alissa provided critical support and data research for a variety of industry newsletters, her strong work reinforces her innate ability to connect with people and meet their individual needs.
Alissa received her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in Galveston, specializing in business and accounting-related studies. She is pursuing accountancy at the University of Houston.
